
Greece Historical Society to Honor Vietnam Veterans: Vietnam Remembered Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Exhibit

Greece, NY - The Greece Historical Society announced today that on Friday, February 12th, 2010, at 10:30am, it will feature a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in honor of the Vietnam War Veterans that proudly served our country. The ceremony will take place at The Greece Museum, located at 595 Long Pond Road, in the town of Greece.
From February 7th, 2010 through February 28th, 2010 a "Vietnam Remembered" exhibit will be on display at the Greece Museum also in honor of these veterans. The Greece Museum is open to the public every Sunday from 2:00pm until 4:30pm and private tours can be scheduled by calling 585-227-7221. The museum will extend its hours to the public on Friday, February 12th, 2010 with the exhibit opening from noon until 7:00pm.

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #20 accepts monetary contributions to fund programs for area Vietnam veterans that include: Operation Welcome Home, the Canandaigua VA, the Vet Center, Troop Boxes, and the Wilmot Cancer Center, to name a few. The Vietnam Veterans Thrift Store accepts donations of articles of clothing, shoes, toys, furniture, appliances, etc., that are in good and usable condition. Vehicle donations are also accepted. For more information on donations call the chapter at 585-482-8036. Donations to this chapter go directly to helping all veterans in Monroe County and the five surrounding counties of Rochester. Many local not-for-profit youth programs also benefit from the contributions.
